Project Overview

Living in small dorms and apartments with strict "no wall damage" policies, I needed a way to store my bike vertically to save floor space. I bought one from Walmart which then fell over and the sound of my bike crashing down woke me up in the middle of the night. Quickly, I mocked up some basic blocks out of foam to understand the ideal geometries, and then designed and printed my bike wall mount.

It features a removable post blocking the wheel from escaping, held in place from rotating by magnets, as well as pad at the bottom which prevents my bike tire from dirtying the wall. Everything was designed to work with command strips and it has stood the test of time through multiple moves!
