FDM 3D PrintingPrint-in-Place Design
Project Overview
Designed to advertise for Stanford Funbotics, this robot showcases the capabilities of "print-in-place" FDM manufacturing. The design features fully articulated joints that are printed pre-assembled, requiring no post-processing or assembly hardware.
This project required tight tolerance control to ensure joints moved freely immediately off the build plate without fusing together. It serves as an accessible, tangible demonstration of additive manufacturing advantages for students and workshop attendees. And, above all else, were an incredibly popular giveaway item.
